Tim Chappel
Designer Biography
Tim Chappel's first feature film The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert won an American Academy Award (Oscar), the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award (BAFTA) and the Australian Film Institute Award (AFI) for costume design.
Chappel revisited this work in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, the Musical for which he received Broadway's 2011 Tony award, the 2011 Drama Desk award, the West End's prestigious 2010 Olivier award, and Australia's 2008 Helpmann award.
After the success of
The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Chappel spent many years in the US designing for feature films, television, and music video clips. His other feature film credits include
Miss Congeniality,
Lovewrecked,
Into the Sun,
Red Riding Hood, and
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, amongst others.
