Charlotte Dean has been a designer and artisan in the Canadian theatre over the last 35 years. Based in Toronto, Ontario, her credits include set and costume designs coast to coast; for the Shaw Festival, the Stratford Festival, the Charlottetown Festival, Canstage, Soulpepper, The Tarragon, Theatre Calgary, the Grand Theatre, the Citadel Theatre, the Belfry. the Blyth Festival, the Banff Festival. as well as work for the National Ballet of Canada, the Canadian Opera Company

Ms. Dean has received 5 of Toronto's Dora Mavor Moore Awards for Outstanding Design, as well as multiple nominations in that category. She has been nominated for the Sterling Awards in Edmonton, and the Betty Mitchell Awards in Calgary. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University and is a member of the Associated Designers of Canada.

Ms. Dean is the recipient of the Herbert Whitaker Award, and in 2009 was awarded The Virginia and Myrtle Cooper Award in Costume Design.
