Designer Biography

Designer Judith Bowden creates both sets and costumes for Peter and the Starcatcher this season. In 2014 she designed set and costumes forThe Mountaintop and costumes for Cabaret. Judith's recent design credits include London Road (Canadian Stage); Music Man, My Fair Lady (costumes, Arena Stage, Helen Hayes Award nomination); Gone with the Wind (Manitoba Theatre Centre); Seussical (Young People's Theatre); La Cenerentola (Pacific Opera Victoria). Previous design credits include set and costume design for Cloud 9 (Mirvish Productions); Top Girls (Soulpepper Theatre Company); The Clean House, The Goat, Written on Water (Canadian Stage Company); Written on Water, The "Vaudevilles" of Chekhov (National Arts Centre); Proof (Manitoba Theatre Centre);Proof (Citadel Theatre); Cabaret, Berlin to Broadway (Theatre Calgary); The Doll's House,The Importance of Being Earnest (Prairie Theatre Exchange). Costume design credits include Pride and Prejudice,The Tempest, A Christmas Carol (Manitoba Theatre Centre); Beauty and the Beast, Einstein's Gift (The Grand Theatre); The Guardsmen; The Government Inspector (Soulpepper Theatre Company). Judith has been awarded the Virginia and Myrtyle Cooper Award for Costume Design (2007), a Dora Award for Set Design (Blue Planet, Kimsa Theatre for Young People) and three Betty Mitchell Awards for Costume Design. In 2006, she was short listed for the Siminovitch Prize in theatre.
