Monica Raya is an outstanding Scenographer. At present she is a member of the National Designers Union. She holds a Licentiate in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Her professional thesis was, "National Schools of Scenic Arts," which received an Honorific mention. From 1984- 1990, she completed the Magisterial Course of Scenic Design at the Richard Wilson Arts Center in Wales, Great Britain. Coordination: Head Office School of Arts, London. In 1989, She received a Masters in Scenic Design from Yale University School of Drama. Her Master's thesis was the designs of

of W. A. Mozart. Raya participated in the PQ in 2003, 2007, and 2011. In theWorld Stage Design in 2005 in Toronto, Canada, she received the Gold Medal for Costume Design. Her designs were featured in the World Stage Design in 2009 in Seoul, Korea.
