A.A. Bakhrushin Central State Theatre Museum

Javier Manjarrés Agudelo is a Colombian visual artist and performer residing in Barcelona since 1987. He studied theatre in the Instituto Departamental de Bellas Artes of Cali, Colombia graduating in 1984. In 1987 he was given a scholarship by the Instituto Catalán de Cooperación Iberoamericana to study scenography at the Institut del Teatre of Barcelona till 1992. He subsequently took a course specializing in costume design at the Centro de Tecnología del Espectáculo of Madrid.

• He has years of experience in the visual aspects of the theatre arts having collaborated

in numerous projects involving set designs and costumes in theatre and dance productions, television shows, and publicity. Two of his most noteworthy collaborations as a prop designer were with TV3 of Catalonia and the Gran Teatro del Liceo of Barcelona.

• He also has an important body of work consisting of sculptures and visual installations

made with recycled materials.

• Through his cultural association, the Art and Recycling Workshop "LA SASTEATRERÍA", he creates, organizes, and supports numerous artistic and intelectual proposals from the heart.
