Infusing the spirit of calligraphy into dance, Huchia Dance Theatre has become one of Taiwan's most influential contemporary art theaters. Audiences not only see interpretations through the movements of his arms and legs, but also the artistic conveyance of ideas that cannot be described, only realized. Indeed, his art offers unique meanings.

A never-ending battle between his mind and spirit sparked by desire contaminates Hu Chia's body with ink, expanding abstract yet figurative ideas across rice paper. Huchia Dance Theatre unearths the expressions of a dancer's limbs, and Hu Chia's performances serve as attempts to pursue a completely natural world of freedom, respect and love that transcends ethnic boundaries.
