Designer Biography

I was born and raised in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. I received a BA of Fashion Design from Shih Chien University, and then obtained an MFA at the same department. My thesis mainly focuses on using illusion tricks to confuse the human recognition by laying and draping people with diverse patterns.

Since I was a kindergarten student, I have enjoyed making clothes for my Barbie, so I decided to major in fashion design from then on. This interest not only made me a designer, but began my teaching career both in the field of fashion design.

Most of my recent works spring from illusion and its physical counterpart. During the process of creation, I have learnt how to explore and use the fabulous relations between visualization and recognition for designing.

Besides teaching, I have worked on numerous projects including uniform design for Bureau of Cultural Affairs Kaohsiung City Government, and product design for Chunrin town at National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute. My first solo exhibition "Mental Image in Prototype" held at Women's Museum of Kaohsiung City Government in 2013, whereas the second solo exhibition "Summoning@Boutique" held at SinPinPier-Absolutely Art Space in the same city in 2014. Moreover, my work "The Glimpse of Image" has been exhibited at the 26th International Costume Congress in Tokyo, Japan in the summer of 2014.
