Designer Biography
Laura Crow is an internationally known designer with over 300 production
credits, as far away as Japan and Yugoslavia, as well as in England, Europe and the
United States including Broadway, Off-Broadway and Regional theaters. A Professor
at the University of Connecticut, Crow is also Vice-Chair for the Americas for the of
Costume Working Group of OISTAT's Performance Design Commission. Awards:
New York: Drama Desk, OBIE, American Theatre Wing, Villager, Maharam; Chicago:
Joseph Jefferson; West Coast: Bay Area Critics, 4 Zonis, 3 Drama-Logues, and has
been selected 5 times to represent the USA at the Prague Quadrennial. Professor
Crow was a Fulbright Senior Research Scholar studying multiculturalism in Festival
dress in the Philippines, and is now a contributing author for Masquerade: A
Panorama, published in 1914 by McFarland & Co. She was among 100 women
selected for the Lincoln Center Exhibition "Curtain Call: Celebrating a Century of
Women Designing for Live Performance," and was recently honored with selection
to the World Stage Design in Cardiff, Wales 2013.
