Linda Pisano

Designer Biography

A costume designer for theatre, dance, musical theatre, ballet, and opera throughout the United States; Linda's ballet designs have toured the UK and Canada. An award winning designer, her work has been featured in the Quadrennial World Design Expo in Prague and the World Stage Design exhibition, and she's a four-time recipient of the Peggy Ezekiel Award for Excellence in Design. She designs regularly with the BalletMet, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Opera San Antonio, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Illinois Shakespeare Festival and many others. A Professor of Costume Design at Indiana University and Area Head of the Design & Technology MFA programs, she also directs their Theatre & Drama study abroad program in London. Linda designs regularly for the renowned Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Opera and Ballet Theatre including the world premiers of Bernard Rand's opera Vincent and PQ Phan's opera The Tale of Lady Thi Kihn. She serves on the Board of Directors for the United States Institute for Theatre Technology and is a member of the United Scenic Artists, Local 829. Some of her most enjoyable production collaborations include TheTragedy of Doctor Faustus the operas Salome, Vincent, La Traviata, Akhnaten and ballet designs of Dracula, Beauty & the Beast and Aladdin.
