Mimi Maxmen has designed over 200 productions in theater, film, opera, and dance. She has designed productions for the Roundabout Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club, the Mark Taper Forum, Santa Fe Opera, the New York City, Joffrey, and Metropolitan Opera Ballet companies, and regional theaters throughout the country. Film: The Lightkeepers with Richard Dreyfuss, Blythe Danner, Mamie Gummer, and Tom Wisdom, Tumbleweeds starring Janet McTeer, Corporate Affairs with Breckin Meyer, Luster, The Singing Detective with Robert Downey, Jr., Lucky Bastard (production and costume designer), The Mesmerist with Neil Patrick Harris and Jessica Capshaw. Opera and ballet: Ariadne auf Naxos, with Susan Graham and Ben Heppner (Santa Fe), Lord Byron and The Mother of Us All by Virgin Thompson (NYC), The Sleeping Beauty (scenery and costumes), La Dame aux Camélias (Ballet Santiago, Chile). Ms. Maxmen is a Parttime Assistant Professor at Parsons/The New School for Design. She is a member of United Scenic Artists (IATSE 829) and the Costume Designers' Guild (IATSE 892); and serves on the Advisory Board of tdf/The Costume Collection.
