APPLICATION SUBMISSIONS

  • Designers should submit to their regional curators (link in sidebar) up to 5 photos or renderings or both, from the same show, a total of 3 productions over the past 25 years (1990-2015). Maximum 15 images.
  • Designers should submit photographs of the actual costumes they wish to include in the showcase at the exhibition.
  • Designers may submit designs for a never produced play, but represents unique/original concepts.
  • Regional Curators are encouraged to submit their own designs and participate in the exhibition.

PLEASE SUBMIT HIGH-RESOLUTION IMAGES OF DESIGNS TO YOUR ASSIGNED REGIONAL CURATOR OR VIA SHARED LINK TO THE EMAIL .

THE MINIMUM RESOLUTION SUGGESTED FOR PRINTING AT 24" x 36" IS 3600px x 5400px, OR 150DPI at 100% SIZE (24" x 36") PREFERABLY 300DPI. INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:

Submission requirements:

  1. Name of the show and the names of the character(s) and actor(s) shown Time and place of production
  2. Name of the director/choreographer
  3. Name of the other designers
  4. Name of the photographer if applicable
  5. Biography of costume designer or other pertinent information
  6. Proof of copyright ownership of the work submitted
  7. Sign and return the Release Form (link in sidebar) with submission

Recommended Submission Instructions using Dropbox.com:

  1. Log onto your dropbox.com account. If you do not have an account, you can make one for free at
  2. Locate or create a folder with all the files you wish to submit/share
  3. Click on the desired folder
  4. Locate and click on the "share link" chain icon to the right of the folder
  5. Copy/paste the address from the "link to folder" into your submission email
  6. Send the email with link to Dropbox to your regional curator or

COPYRIGHTS:

It is the artist’s responsibility to have copyrights of their work and submit them along with the images of every single piece they will submit to the exhibit. In the United States one gets a copyright by mailing an image to the US Copyright office. Information at:

The museum holds no copyright for the work of the artist, but acknowledges copyrights that will be stated in the contract between the artist and the museum.

INSURANCE:

The museum insurance covers all exhibition materials only when they are in the possession of the museum. If you will be sending the costumes or renderings via the mail, you must purchase your own insurance. The museum will not be liable for any lost property outside the museum.
